Restoration #4 - Windsor Whirle

This banjo was restored to playing condition in December 2021.

This banjo was given to me for a basic clean and set-up, after some time of being a school banjo, and then more recently just sitting unplayed. While there are a number of areas where cosmetic repairs could have been made, the owner was mainly concerned with getting it playing-ready.

I therefore gave it a strip-down and clean, replaced the torn skin, and installed a new nut where the old one had been chipped and re-slotted. I then put on a new set of strings. All simple tasks, but together they took it from a wall-hanging ornament back to a working instrument.
